Camry for sure.

First trip I took when I bought my 97 Valkyrie was Montreal to San Antonio. I have a smallish clip-on windshield with clip on soft saddlebags and a backrest bag if needed. Naked when arriving at destination and much lighter and maneuverable than the I/S. Very comfortable and fast. So far I changed one fork seal and a manual petcock. Just about to turn 100K. Great touring bike but I still love my Gl 1000 when it isn't breaking down. The Valk has been bullet proof. Easy to swap out alternators if you have to as well.

Guy on a Honda VTX 1800 pulled up along side me when I was on the Valk one day. "Best bike I ever owned" he said of the Valkyrie and roared off.

...one fork seal? I did both of mine at the same time. At just over 50k.

Lol. An anomaly. :lol:

My buddy has both. (The one who put 158k on his fist Valk and bought a second). Admittedly, he does take the wing on road trips now. But, his first Valk went everywhere. Literally. He says his excuse now is that he's old.

A bug or two must have committed suicide on that one side.

You are right of course. With the wheel and fender off it is rather stupid to have changed only one.

I'm funny like that. Always in a hurry to get a bike back on he road. I'll be yanking the engine out of the Wing tomorrow
to put the 4th stator in. It's been out of commission since last May. Guess I just contradicted myself. :-?

Appreciate all the input, guys! You certainly haven’t talked me out of it... if anything, solidified my decision to seek me out a Valk. Only real question I’m taking away here is if I wanna sacrifice the trunk/fairing for some maneuverability. So... to I/S or not to I/S...

In my opinion, the only reason you would need the I/S was if you truly planned to take the wife along often. Since that was one of your first conditions, I think that'll probably be the best choice. You have nailed it though – Tourer is easier to flick through twisties and maneuver in parking lots. If flicking or maneuvering are terms that can be accurately applied to a 750 pound machine.
