Re: It aint pretty.....
I've had the opposite problem. The young kids they hire to work at our local Canadian Tire are usually interested in the job and want to help yo figure stuff out but some of the middle aged guys are just there for the paycheque and it shows. I've been buying the same thermostat from them for all of my water cooled Honda bikes since I bought my first 'Wing in '91. One of those old-enough-to-have-a-clue guys tried to refuse to go and get the part number I gave him because he couldn't find it in the computer. I think the computer would have told him which shelf and he was too lazy to look for it. He wasn't there long...

We were all young and dumb too. I figure the old guys we dealt with likely felt the same at times. But we seem to be on a steeper downhill slide with the parts kids with so little experience and only a computer in front of them for all the answers. Each place still needs one old grey beard to pass on the knowledge if they will only listen.

Re: It aint pretty.....
Finally got around to putting the new tube in my 83's coolant reserve tank and figured I'd give you all a heads up on it. The original part # is NLA and is superseded by another part # which it too is superseded by yet another part # and I ended up with a part # of 19205-MF5-010. As you can see in the pic the new one on the right is a good 2 inches longer than the original one but no worries, a cut with a razor blade and it was good to go.
