The CB450 Carbs are basically the same as the GL1000. The main difference are the shafts.

Well I’ve decided to remove the engine to give the frame some love, The factory weld splatter has got to go, along with new bronze swingarm bushings and a smooth semi gloss paint.....

I remember being there. Consider changing the wheel bearings, All Balls has a steering head bearing kit. This is a decent upgrade. Bike is looking great.

Thanks James, I’m already on it but I go with boss bearings, there about 40% cheaper than all balls and just as good.....

Things are progressing, new wheel bearings, tires, rebuilt the tach and hand controls, rebuilt carbs, and a lot of polishing, still waiting for new rear sprocket and original seat from upholstery........

That thing is gorgeous. Congratulations on acquiring it and getting it into this state. But, I love that seat. Are you not going to keep it on there?

By the way, it was mentioned earlier that the 450 CV carbs were very similar to the early GL carbs. It's also true that the CBX carbs (all six of them) are very similar in design (with the exception of the inclusion of an accelerator pump). Not too surprising, I suppose. Why reinvent the wheel for each machine?

Thanks guys, I bought that seat for a cx project and sold it to obtain this bike, it does seem to fit the look of the bike but I’m going with the original seat, as for my “vintage” bikes, my collection evolve month to month, but my keepers include 3 xs650s, 2 sohc cb750s, 1 cb350 four, 1 cl350, 2 gl1000s 1 250 Ducati Monza and this 68 cb450, I’ve slimed down to these bikes from summer.....

She cleaned up real nice and looks amazing. I would like to see the stock seat back on there after it comes back from the shop. Brings back memories for sure.
