Just got back from long trip #2 on my mint nakedized 1983 GL1100. I live in extreme SE Nebraska, and so far have toured the Black Hills in 1, 1500 mile 4 day trip, then 2 weeks later took another 1500 mile 3 day run down to Mississippi and back. The bike runs like a charm, will blow the doors off just about every cruiser I have come across, and she loves to run 78+mph all day long (about the sweet spot). She gets a little scary in the curves when pushed. The bike wollowes, when pushed hard in the twisties. You can feel the frame flex and the suspension bounce. I am getting used to the linked brakes, I would prefer standard brakes, but not enough to change mine over.
If you haven't ridden the Ozark roads in South central Missouri, you really need to. I have been there before, but they are AMAZING!
I was having issues with false neutrals (one or two every ride). Last oil change, I added a couple ounces of Seafoam to the oil, and within a hundred miles the false neutrals problem completely disappeared.
Big shout out to Delkevik exhausts and C5 Ignitions. My bike flat out hauls and sounds awesome.

Yep. He's hooked.
Sounds like you got a solid specimen. You're using it exactly what it was designed for. Well done!

You need progressive suspension on both ends all these years later and when you have the rear wheel off, check the inner hub bearing for play as the 83 model with Honda's new cast mags, had the same problem as the 84-5 1200 rear wheel.
