Suzuki A100 1980 Cafe racer

#1

Post by Steevensi »

I had this pristine Suzuki A100 1980 for the past 2 years.
It's my "funny" bike. I get all sorts of comments when I'm riding it.
This thing is small!

I decided to give it a little more style by converting it to a cafe racer.
I could not destroy an original bike like this so I disassembled the parts I was not planning on using and stored them.
That way I can reverse back to the original setup if I want to.

The next logical step would be to have this 100 cc 2 strokes rebuild so I have a bit more punch. It was only 9.6 hp when new so I assume quite a lot of the poneys escaped in the past 37 years.

Cheers!

Bare bones for sure. Motor. Cycle. Nothing. Else.

I've loved that sound since my first ride on a friend's TS185 in 1976.....reinforced years later in when a fine, young lady in El Cajon rode me around her town on the back of her RD400 ... while I held on to her "tightly".

Yours looks a mighty fine ride too!

That's kind of the idea. On a bike that small, removing weight is noticeable.
Cheers

I'm still debating if I prefer it stock or in this form.
I'm going to ride it this way this year. Bringning it back to stock would not take more than an afternoon.
