My regular get you where you are going GPS also gives me my speed. On my 78 the numbers on the speedo, and the GPS are right on. On the 1200 the stock is 1 mile an hour off from the GPS. Don't know if that helps, but I think the GPS tracks speed very well.

My bike came with a trail tech vapor. It is inaccurate in both speed and rpm. I want something round to mount to handlebars. Unless you guys know of a round speedo that will work on a gl1500.

You said that the bike came with it, so it was already set up? I have a trailtech vapor on my FT500, and it seems to be right on. Maybe it just needs to be calibrated better? Did it come with the instructions? I remember when I set mine up, the instructions said something about the number of wraps around the spark plug wire to correct lazy or inaccurate tach. Also can adjust what size the unit thinks the wheel is, for adjusting the speed.

I thought the 'vapor' seemed like a good piece of equipment, and was considering getting one for my XL600R, too.
