With all this talk lately about superchargers. Has anyone messed with the emission air pumps as a supercharger for a small engine like a minitrail CT 70. Even 5-6 pounds boost would really pep one up there are some youtube trials but the folks here are way more realistic and practical/honest with ideas.

Have zero knowledge of the subject but my first question would be the power supply for the pump. Is it electrical and does the stock bike have enough excess current available to operate it?

most emissions pumps run of a v belt or serpentine belt..
One issue I can think of is..controlling the boost. With a roots style blower you can change the pulley to under drive or over drive the blower..you won't be able to do that with an emissions pump very easily.

How much does an emissions pump produce? A screw type blower compresses a lot of air. I doubt an emissions pump is even close.

I think Car Craft or Hot Rod tried something with a leaf blower several years back. Made a little extra HP but not much. And probably pushed more air than the pump you are thinking of.

All true, Many European cars use the electric and the US typically seem to use the belt driven. Would not pulley ratio do the same with the vane type pumps like these for boost control. I am not sure the vane pumps will even survive in a suck thru and might only work as a blow thru which complicates the fuel supply. As of yet I have not even looked into pressure available.
Leaf blower design produce lots of volume but not much pressure.

Do that first. See how much a typical blower, either style, or turbo makes. It is a lot.
