They should do the job, good reviews. What size did you go with. I checked my tires, front is a Dunlop elite II, the four digit code is 0200, 2nd week of 2000, so its 17 years old and looks it. Back is a Michelin Macadam 50 tire, code is 2203, 22nd week of 2003, so its close to 14 years old, but looks good. I've only done test rides around the block. Handling would suck if pushed at all with mis-matched old tires.

I still keep in contact with a former club member here in San Antonio who is now riding a BMW,don't recall his handle, but anyway spoke with him yesterday regarding replacing an engine in a GL1100 and he casually mentioned that on his way to work that morning the front tire on the BMW blew and he went down at 75 mph. Said his padded coat saved him from road rash. (no helmet ) Still went to hospital so some injuries. It was a 70s bike so probably old tires.
Bikes at present:

83 XL 600r with a 2004 XR650L engine
And a slightly worse for the wear BMW GS adventure bike awaiting repair
83 GL in process :IDTS:
