Minneapolis IMS show. Anyone see the vintage bikes?

#1

Post by C5Paul »

A friend of mine worked the Minnesota VJMC booth at the IMS show this past weekend. His supercharged GL1000 was on display. I missed the show. Did anyone talk to Scott in person about this gorgeous bike?

It's Mine. Thanks for posting it Paul.
The paint scheme was based on NGW member Oldboy's bike, not Lars.
Supercharger was phase 2 after original build . A basket case supercharger
became avail on EBay in the fall of 2012. I guess it could be a Bulldog ripoff if
Oldboy's bike was based on it. Twice removed of course. Scott.

Scott,

It doesn't matter what you build (car, plane, cycle, or shotgun) the odds of doing everything different from past builders is a billion to one. I like your bike for several reasons based on my own taste in motorcycles. Here is what I find so appealing:

The bike is understated. You don't have a big ugly exhaust, 12" chrome intake stacks, or non functional items.
You took the time to make the bike appear that it "could have been" stock.
I am not a big fan of yellow, but you mixed it tastefully with black, and to me it turned out really fantastic.
You took a chance at the IMS show and brought it for all to see. As we all know, our labors of love mean a great deal to us, and if someone said our kids were ugly or stupid, we'd all feel angry and hurt.

This summer I can't wait to help you "fine tune" the ignition curves and hear it run in person.
I'll bring enough beer and brats for a small biker party afterward.
