Hmmm....it's a million miles from immaculate, unfortunately....and today its light switch finally gave up the ghost totally.

I do like the way it looks with the side cases, and as I hear baggers are the new thang, thought I'd jump on the bandwagon.

But wait till my Caff Racer seat is finished, and you'll see 'the other side of Mitzi....' ;)

Mark, I really think that's a fairing that suits the bike well.....do they still sell them? 'Rabid Transport', eh?

I'll now read the report over a small glass of Laphraoig.
Hal, hope you enjoy the report and your scotch. Can't wait to see the evolution of Mitzi.

The Vesco Rabid Transits were made in the 70's and 80's i believe. There are not a ton of them around and they are a bit sought after so not too easy to come by, though there happens to be one on ebay right now.

I've seen them mostly on air heads but also on a few guzzis and a suzuki gs's. They mount up to a standard vetter fairing mount so that part is easy enough. Getting bars that will work is another matter.

Jbo367 wrote:Very sharp dangeruss. That is my color scheme and everything. Thank you for the visual. Looks like 1100 bags are the way to go. How hard where they to mount? Where should I go about looking for some o those?
click--->here to see how i did it.

i found some on craigslist locally, having to ship is a dealbreaker and people on ebay etc want more for one bag than i paid for all 3 plus the mounting system. they're super handy, but they negatively affect how the bike feels IMO. handy can make up for a lot of feeling though, i'll be putting them back on eventually

I finally bolted my bags on last night. I took this quick shot with my phone. I'll update the photo the next time I push the bike outside.

One of the best examples of an GL1000 bagger that I've ever seen is Puffy75's bike with Valkyrie bags.

This is my 76 work in progress. Has 1100 bags on it, no raiding and drag bars.

I picked up a set of 1100 bags for mine last week I am in the processs of painting them on my spare time right now it is my first paint job with an actual spray gun and it is turning out quite nice. I will post a pic of mine on this thread when I get the bags installed. Very cool to see all the different types of bags on these bikes. I like it a lot .
