GL1100 Selling on Hemmings currently

#1

Post by flyin900 »

While this is a low miles standard version it is nice to see that the price has come up into a fairly high area, based on past sales of these bikes. At $4500.00 presently with time to go, who knows if it will go a little higher or not.

12 days to go and now up to $6K US??? Has the tide turned in pricing for these old gals or what? I thought the early GL1000's were the collectable ones and once into the 80's models all bets were off.

Listing says it's air cooled, must be why the price is so high! Radiator plainly in sight where it ought to be.

Hemmings lol..... They are clearly cars guy's and every motorcycle is air cooled don't you know. :orange

A couple of days left, so we will see if it sticks at $6K, or if there is a last few minutes bid upwards. Still pretty healthy money for a GL1100; that would be close to $10K in Canadian Peso's.

I have a 81 GL1100 Standard in the same condition with slightly more kilometers, less the stator cooker farkles. I would be pleased as punch to sell mine this spring even in the $5-6K Canadian range. :crosso

SOLD.... SOLD! FOR $8K US dollars.

Which is a pretty big sum of money for these GL1100 bikes; so possibly the tide has turned in a better way for the Wings.
I purchased a 1981 GL1100 Standard close to 5 years ago with 24K kilometers and in quite decent shape for about $750.00 Canadian. It came with a lot of brand new spare parts the PO had purchased 5 years earlier and never got around to doing the work.

Just like 5 Speeds bike above was in VGC and close to the bike that just sold in its condition and looks.

Mine after some work and clean up.
