In the back two corners? Inside those "bushings" are adjustable legs/feet. I don't really know why. All they do is vibrate/rotate out once in awhile and when the table comes down that corner will be a little higher than the frame. No big deal. Also, there are two "arms" that came with the lift that have u-shaped brackets on the top. About three feet high. You can tie the bike "up" with those. Supposedly. I tried it once just to see. It pulled the arms in toward the bike. Those two pieces no longer exist. ;)
that would be a bit sketchy if one of the legs jammed on the way down..

After some delays I was able to get some more done. Engine covers installed and they look good. I had to take it off the lift to run some GL1000 carbs on the test engine. First time it has seen sun since last year.

Talk about a clean slate to start with. So is this going to be mostly stock other than the coatings?

Did not exactly start with a clean slate. ;) I don't have any before pics but it sat for several years in a garage. So everything is getting "touched". Yes, engine is stock. Just a complete rebuild. A good bit of money spent at the powder coating shop. But not too bad. Paint is already done. All body parts are new so paint guy didn't have much prep work to do on that. A long time friend that rarely does motorcycles did that for me.

A lot of new parts on this. Wiring, body, both fenders, headlight and all brackets, turn signals and brackets, controls, handle bars. Of course all wheel and neck bearings. Lot of other parts too.

Almost ready to make some noise. Wiring installed and checked out. Carbs on. Needs exhaust hung and fuel hooked up. It will get exhaust from the shed installed for now. Just to get it "right". Then new pipes after that.

Still a ways from a rider but getting closer.

Thank you.

I just had it running about 20 minutes ago. Carbs will need to be dialed in. I left the jetting just the way they were when I got the bike. Had to take it back off the lift though. Should get parts for paying jobs middle of the week. So I need to switch gears again. lolol

Bike is looking good. A good refurbishment to bring it back to its former glory is not inexpensive. Stopped keeping track of what I spent on vapour blasting, sand blasting, painting, and engine rebuild of my '85 Limited Edition - prep time is a killer. Would not have been done if someone else was to do it.

Looking forward to the end product.

Cheers

Finally got it all finished except for the final test ride. The paint really looks a lot better in person. It has a very fine red metallic in it. Gives it a red "tint" in the sun.
