carb filler valve

I am trying to replace the carb filler valve and seat and am stymied about how to get the part out of the carb. I could try the old brute force, but I do not want to break (not brake) anything.

If the filler valve is damaged, it is okay to crush it on the way out I suppose. Had to do that on my lawn mower carb. New once inserted just fine.

I use a smaller vice grip and grab the float valve seat as close as possible and perpendicular to the carburetor body.
Rock it back and forth. Twisting the vice grip it may slip and snap off one of float pivot pin posts. The o-ring will eventually yield. Surprisingly, I haven't distorted the inner diameter of one yet.

ditto. needle nose vice grips. sometimes you block the valve and hit the inlet with a shot of air from your compressor. in a sack of course.
