Do you have an oe for your bike where there is a 3 digit code number on it ? If so it’s relatively easy to find a vendor on eBay that can send you a replacement key to that number, if not then it’s a little bit more involved to remove the ignition switch and get the number from it.

This is the guy I used when I needed new keys, the old ones had just worn out. Well pleased with the new keys. https://hondakeys.com/

yes I have the original key, I will need a magnifying glass to read the last number, cannot tell if it is a 3 or an 8.
this is for my 78 which is apart and I am beginning to put back together. I found the spare, but I cannot find the other key which also has the keys to the vetter bags and aftermarket one for the back box....

My Dad was a locksmith and he taught me to keep good original copies of all of our keys (plus any extra copies) in a place where we can find them when we need them and can tell if any are missing easily. Ours are hanging in a cabinet that Dad made in the basement shop and the rule is that the good originals never leave the cabinet except to be copied and then they must be put back immediately afterward.

You can buy key cabinets from places like Staples and Home Depot or if you don't want to invest in a cabinet you can put cup hooks in a board and hang the board in an inconspicuous location. The main thing is to keep good copies of everything where you can find them and to resist the temptation to "borrow" them.

well, found the Morgan keys, no such luck on the 78 keys. The one I need is the key to the vetter back box, which was a replacement. probably cheaper to drill it out

I bought a cheap lock picking tool set from ebay. Takes a bit of fiddle time but once unlocked you can reset the tumblers to accept any key that will insert into the lock. I removed two tumblers and moved the others around enough to find a combination that worked. A little less secure but it worked.

The ones on the rear Vetters I have are basic.
I'd just drill it out. You should be able to use the old cam with this https://www.mcmaster.com/1770A54/ lock.
Or any similar.

(and you get 2 keys!) anim-cheers1
Great to keep these old 'Wings flying on down the road.
