The only issue I've had while wearing the modular helmet is that I tend to open it as soon as I pull into the garage and with the chinbar up it adds a few inches to my height and the doorways inside the garage are a bit lower than standard height so every year I hit the bottom of the chinbar a couple of times before I get used to ducking an inch when going through them ;-)
first time I walked out of the garage with the front flipped up I thought I was going to rip my head off when it hit the top of the door frame..

It can be said that modular helmets are becoming more and more popular because of their convenient and comfortable design. And it's also my favorite as a modular helmet can be a good compromise between the full face protection and the breathability of an open-face helmet. It is suitable for many riders who enjoy the ability to open the front of the helmet to let air in, especially if they ride in hot climates. That's why I always choose to use the modular helmet.

Well, I got my new Schuberth c3 Pro Lite, it’s a pretty nice helmet and the fit is a little snug but comfortable, it should be great with a little time to break-in. It is a little quieter than my previous Scorpion but not a huge amount (I do wear ear plugs) except when the chin bar vent is open and then it’s quite a-bit noisier.

The Schuberth is definitely made with quality & quality products, very nice piece.

The only thing I really don’t care for is the chin bar release which is fairly difficult to access & use, nearly impossible with gloves on but this may get better with time & use,, we’ll see !

Modular for me. Used to wear a 3/4. Then tried a Bell Star back in the 70's. Felt much better in it. Had a 3/4 in 2004 when I got my first GL1000, but soon bought a modular and have had them since. Had a modular HJC on in 2016 when I went down @~50 mph on I-40 downtown Knoxville. Grinding damage to the chin bar convinced me to always wear one after that (even riding the Spyder). I might flip the chin bar up to take a drink, but otherwise it stays latched.

I went early to full face (1970's).... but the years we lived in Oklahoma, I just felt like my head was a naked apple, and started wearing shorty's or 3/4's. Also there was the helmet headache. What I discovered was you get what you pay for. An expensive helmet does not give me a HA. worth its weight in something a lot lighter than gold.

Yep, I’ve always worn a full face helmet or a modular ever since I’ve been riding. I had a friend who bought a new 1970 h1 Kawasaki 500 which was as wicked as they get back then.

He was a serious wheelie riding mad man ! One thing about those early Kawi’s was that they only had a “pull” throttle cable not “push/pull” like on our wings and the early bikes were known for the throttles sticking in the open position requiring you to kick the carbs to get things to release. Which they usually did easily.

Well Wheelie King had 1 time that it just wouldn’t release and he had a “get off” from a wheelie at around 80mph , he hit feet first which then had him sliding on the chin bar of his Bell full face and his fore arm. The chin bar was nearly worn through and his fore arm was to the bone in places, but he basically walked away unharmed except for his forearm, I always wear a full face helmet of some kind, always !

I guess he didn't realize he could slow it down by turning the kill switch off & on to modulate the ignition....

Bob, if I recall correctly, something with the ignition would override the ignition switch and just keep running at high rpm’s, my brothers 72 500 and my buddies 72 750 would do that, it generally just wouldn’t shut off at the upper rpm’s for some reason.

That H2 750 was the scariest bike I’ve ever ridden, you just never knew what it was going to do, it seemed really fast but I’ve ridden & owned a number of bikes that would just wipe the floor with it like my current FJR (also scares me a little) but the 750 was just so unpredictable. Those 3cyl Kawi’s weren’t very good bikes except for the 350/400 series that seemed to be more “finished” ,,,, awwww the good old days !

2 Nolan 3/4’s. Nolan xl fit my head. 3/4 helmet is more comfortable but protection bad.
Don’t like my shoei full face or scorpion modular.
