So let me ask, do the diode blocks have influence on any of this ? I don’t know, but the OP’s symptoms kinda mirrors my fun time with the neutral light. Just askin?

no. Simple system, hot wire to the bulb and the other wire goes to the pressure switch which either provides a ground or not.

Shain, you should also check fo any frayed insulation/crushed wires en route to the switch from the light.

Thanks, I'll do that first. Little more to cleaning the screen than anticipated :)

I did take her out this morning and it happened... slightly.
Glad I did though, Southport has all the banners strung over the streets in prep for the fourth; beautiful feeling idleing along underneath.

Just getting to the screen is fun. Replacing the screws holding the cover on with button head Allens that permit using a ball driver on them helps.

Not really. When I'm doing something to my bike I'm "in the moment", I have degree's in both mecanical, and electrical. I often do things as a matter of fact . That is to say, I just do them. Part is education, and part is the fact that I have been working on cars and bikes since I was 16. I'm now 77. So I have learned a few things. It's not that I can't post pictures, or detailed advice.... I just choose not to. If someone brings me a bike, and asks for help, I'm all over it. I love a challenge. But my experience with people who have a problem, is that they seldom know how to discribe it properly. And often, in the past, when I did give advise, it was not followed properly. The ones I put my hands on, I fix. I repair stuff, and create stuff, because I love doing it. I had the first "bike of the year". It is one of those bikes that the more you look at it, the more you see. I have never had a car or bike that remained "stock", more then a month.

Not a problem. I had a stroke several years ago, and I've been half a cog off since then.

The first thing I would do is replace the oil pressure sending unit because it is easy and inexpensive. I recently helped a person replace the head gaskets on a GL1200 and discovered someone had installed one of the restrictors backwards. It was difficult to remove it.
