Ok so the solenoid stuck on my 77 and the starter was running on with engine running. I pulled the starter from the bike initially thinking it was at fault, I then realised I should check the solenoid first which was stuck. Iv now replaced the solenoid and have just over 12v going to starter. Problem is the starter is dead, not spinning at all. Pulled it from the bike and put 12v direct to it and nothing! Split it open and don’t see anything obviously wrong. Any ideas? Bushes etc are fine as are the wires going to them.
Thanks in advance

Re: Starter Dead
Check for winding desoldered, commutator cooked, brush leads open, or springs not forcing good brush contact.
