Eengers , hope you got your carbs sorted, I managed to get mine on 4 cyl , I have a post in the new member section the NZ carb issues first post, have a read see if it helps you . Cheers .

I think I need an ultrasonic cleaner, that seems to be the item that makes all the difference when it comes to cleaning these things. I'm going to continue to mess with the bike, hopefully I'll have some luck in the upcoming weeks getting it going again.

You do not "need" an ultrasonic cleaner to get carbs properly cleaned. It does make it easier/faster. But it can be done without one.

I have successfully rebuilt many carb racks without one. But there are times when it would have been nice to have.

I agree with Robin & Whiskerfish as it would be a NICE to have but not a necessity. I am looking at buying one myself as it would be nice to have but certainly not a requirement.
