There's more room around the outside of the boot on the GoldWing than there is on the SilverWing and inside it you don't need any more clearance than you would on any car CV joint. I'd say to take the old one to a well stocked car parts place (the boot we use on SilverWings was sourced at a Canadian Tire) when they aren't busy but that could be difficult these days.

I used a split screw-together boot on one of my Subaru DOJs and it outlasted the solid ones. They went through a lot more flex (contantly rotating) than ours. Just need to find one the right size.
