Seafoam...how to?

#1

Post by Psycheonabike »

So, I have some Seafoam on the way so am wondering the best way to use it? I've heard people draining carbs the filling with neat Seafoam. Or should I just add to a tank of fuel and ride, if so how much

Thanks,

Bottle is like 16 ounces I think. Add half a bottle to a full tank of gas. Ride 150 miles and repeat.

run your carbs dry and then add seafoam mixed correctly to gas; add via gasline to carbs (200 cc) let sit for an hour then run dry. Seafoam is great in a tank if you want to clean the rust and send it down to your carbs. better to hook up an auxillary fuel pump and polish your fuel if seafoam is in tank. also pull your petcock and run tach cable thru each line and back flush the lines before you polish the fuel. filters will not remove rust particles so drain gas and let sit; rust will settle to bottom of container. put some magnets in tank. or just pull tank and do the job correctly. Mike Nixon has article on spraying cleaner into carbs via air jets. best way!

1) read the instructions on the container
2) look up how much fuel your tank holds and calculate how much of the product you need
3) go to the gas station and add the product to the tank immediately before filling the tank so the incoming fuel will mix it through the tank
