GL1100 front axle spindle loose

#1

Post by Neat_GL80 »

Hi folks!
Have anyone else been struggling with loose fitting of front axle and bearings? Bought new set of bearings (6302 2RS) but there’s a bit too much of a clearence with the spindle. I could wiggle the bearing a bit sideways when just tested the spindle into it. Measured the spindle diam. and got approx 14,9 mm - should be 15,0 mm. :IDTS:

Where to look proper size spindle? That seems to be the only solution.

Thanks in advantage

Yes some, your able to see polished area next to the spacer. But it looks very slight though. I’m also curious about the finishing of the spindle on the area of the bearings. You’ll notice those grinding marks going along the axle. Is it supposed to be that way? It’s not very exact fit even without the wear.
