Unknown ignition

#1

Post by Flatlander80 »

Does anyone recognize this ignition? It was on my parts bike and I’m wondering if I should use it instead of the points... but I know nothing about it, there are no markings, and I don’t know how to set it up. Any insight would be appreciated!

I installed this today, thanks to the instructions that are posted in the tech section... big thumbs up to this forum! I wouldn’t have known half of what to do without the knowledge on here. action1

It fired right up with the fuel in the bowls (tank and backend were off for clutch work)... idled smooth at 800rpm with no air cleaner or pipes (just headers)... only had it running for 10sec or so... now to get it back together!

You do know that you can get at the clutch without removing the swingarm, don't you?

Yes... I didn't remove the swing arm, but I did remove the rear wheel and tank.

All you need to remove to work on the clutch is the clutch cover and you can access that without removing anything else.
