I do think it's heat related, Bob. I cannot expound as to why the effect appears to be more pronounced with the non AGM.
Just my experience. As to maintenance, I am not religious about it, but during idle periods in the summer, I do apply a float charger on these machines occasionally. Not constantly.
That actually might have something to do with it. The AGM technology does tolerate a longer discharge condition.
