I'm not recommending this, just explaining it: The reasoning behind running the tire in the opposite direction of rotation when it is used on the opposite end of the bike is tied to the fact that most manufacturers overlap the ends of the tread blanks in opposite directions for front and rear use because of the different forces acting on the tires (rear = mostly driving, front = mostly stopping).

This thread is interesting to me as I just put a new set of tires on my project 1100.
Maybe I i'm crazy or just like living on the edge, but this shinko is now on the rear: I'll let you know how it works out.
