Any hairline cracks in the cylinders or heads?
That was from between the coolant line and the cylinder head. Not sure why it was used, but it seems to have held. I don’t see any hairline cracks, but I imagine it will be easier to see once I’ve got everything cleaned up.

Should be an orifice there that looks like this:

I think it’s just the angle. Everything appears to be normal right there.

Yeah, I think the oil orifice just looks funny because it's filled with chocolate milk, lol... did you install new spark plugs before this happened? #4 looks really bright and shiny. Coolant in the cylinder will steam clean stuff nicely...

Yep, put 4 new spark plugs in. Only ran them for 2-3 miles. Glad to know there are signs of a blown head gasket. Maybe this won’t entirely be a waste of time/money. Lol. Now what on earth would cause that coolant pipe to burst?

I've been messing with 4 cylinder wings for only a short time (8 years). I've never seen it. Maybe some of these guys who've been putzing with them for 3 or 4 decades can weigh in on that one. Superheated steam might do it, but I wouldn't expect the weakest point to be there...

Me either. Which has me seriously concerned about what may be damaged inside the case. I’ve read a few things about people having a similar situation. With their cars. Sounds like it could have been weakend by a crack, and then it finally goes. But stills seems wrong that there could be THAT much pressure in the cooling system.

If you are going to remove both cylinder heads, you can visibly compare the reciprocal movement of each piston, in its respective cylinder bore, as the engine's crankshaft is rotated.

WHY?

If there has been sufficient unwanted liquid volume in a cylinder bore, and it has dynamically caused a hydrostatic lock to occur, there is a probability of a straight connecting rod, becoming a bent connecting rod. Then, its connected piston won't push as far up the cylinder bore as it should. Lower cylinder compression test results are probable, too.

CAUTION! If you attempt this pistons examination with one cylinder head still installed, that still installed cylinder head's, camshaft timing belt, has to be installed and properly timed, first, or valves will be damaged... bent...when the crankshaft is rotated sufficiently.

I cringe whenever I think of fluid in a cylinder when the piston attempts to reach TDC.

A depressingly, impressive show of unexpected destructive force?

Yielding a low tech, de-stroked cylinder? ;)

Finally got around to pulling the carbs. Here’s the explody bits. Also, anyone have a preferred carb shop to send these off to to be rebuilt?
