Identifying original finishes
I have tried to search for answers with no success so I would like to ask if anyone can give me some insights. Trying to figure out what was originally used on master cylinders and calipers. Master cylinders appear to be anodized black? Calipers painted? I have a nice 76 that I am trying to bring back and it has been a lot of fun hours in the garage, cannot wait for spring ! Thanks for any information.

Re: Identifying original finishes
Pretty sure you are correct but I would wait for confirmation from one of the guys into restoration.

Re: Identifying original finishes
I think you're correct. Just don't forget the painted red dot (10mm diameter) on both the calipers and master.
Great to keep these old 'Wings flying on down the road.

Re: Identifying original finishes
When I worked over the calipers for the "Team 993" bike, I saved the original red dot by using Vaseline to coat them during stripping and repainting.
Worked pretty well...
