My luck has changed...a little

Went out to the shed to readjust my clutch and it proved to be my problem with downshifting into first on a roll.
Apparently I needed to put a little slack in the adjustment (yes I read the manual). Anyway, the problem usually showed up after the engine temp would stabilize and first would not easily downshift. I rode all over town up to temp and it worked beautifully and I did not have that annoying missing B plate chatter. Smooth as silk.
Also, replaced my speedo cable, it now works great.
One last thing, she started to back fire a little here and there. I think I'll ride it rather than wrench on it anymore for a while. Except for the occasional pop during decel she ran fine. But then my thinking is, I've done so little riding since I've been in this game I prefer riding than wrenching and besides I'm not that good at wrenching and I need more practice riding.

Ride, ride, ride! When you feel like wrenching (or it gets worse) check your plugs for color and go from there...

Think we are in similar positions. After all the time I spent trying to stop a very slight oil leak from the crankshaft, (yes, it still does), as soon as the weather gets (a bit) warmer, I want to ride my bike. As long as it safe to do so, and there isn't a pool of oil on the floor, I'm happy to.

1985 GL650 Silverwing another mistake, horrible bike
1986 CBX550 Good commuter
