TomTom
Somebody has a TomTom GPS device installed in a GL 1000? How do you connect it?

Re: TomTom
I don't use Tom Tom on my bike. I use garman. However I think the power requirements are t he same. Buy the device that allows you to plug into a cigarette lighter in a car, and run your Tom Tom. Wire that device into your bike, and plug the Tom Tom into it. Wire it so that it gets power only when the key is on.

That's what I did but mine is hot all the time. Wired with a fuse of course.

Re: TomTom
I went with only on when the key is on because with the Garman, it can be made to come on, and go off when power is applied. Mine comes on automatically with key, and goes off automatically when key is off. One less thing to concern myself with while riding

Re: TomTom
We use a Garmin at work, but they want us to change over to Google maps. It's easier to ignore the Garmin when it's sending you on a goofy route, but the 'girl in the box' is quite good at nagging, lol!5speed wrote:I haven't got to that point yet by my plan is to use the google map app on my phone and one ear bud so I can heard the wonderful lady tell me where to go.
