Fuel pump compatibility

I would like to convert my 77 to an electric fuel pump. 2.5 to 4 psi pumps are plentiful. Would one in that pressure range work for a pair of idf 40 carbs.

The IDF 40's like pressure in the 3 - 3.5PSI range.

The www can be so confusing. The best I can figure is that the gl1200 fuel pump pressure is 3 to 5 psi..

I have a pair of Weber 40's on deck for my '78. I did a lot of reading and have amassed a bunch of chatter about the process. So far, I've been too lazy and the bike is running too well to begin the process.

I converted to a 1200 electric pump six months ago for starting issues and in anticipation of the Weber installation. The 1200 pump is reported as being a good match for them.

I used the stock 1200 pump on a 77 engine with good results. It is best to use a relay connected to the coil power wire so the pump only runs when the coils are firing.
Bikes at present:

83 XL 600r with a 2004 XR650L engine
And a slightly worse for the wear BMW GS adventure bike awaiting repair

Any carb I've ever seen, be it truck, car or motorcycle, used a 2.5 to 3.5 PSI pump. So I'm guessing that anything between 2 and 5 psi would work fine.

I've used the Facet/Purolator electric, aircraft grade fuel pump on two of mine and they run awesome. I can come up with the part number if you absolutely want it. And they're virtually dirt cheap.

I have the same display but mine are taped to the inside of the door right next to the sheets of paper where I track the oil changes!
