Electronic ignition id.
The 75 I bought in November has some form of electronic ignition I've never seen before. It works flawlessly, just curious what it is.

Re: Electronic ignition id.
I have the same one and it seems to be fine. I just discovered that the black wire was connected after the resistor and not before as designed. According to Ray P. ( aka 'Taunusrainer'), a GL electrics expert, this means that it operates on a lower power than intended. It should be an easy fix, gives me another little project to do as snow falls on the NE

Re: Electronic ignition id.
For the record, my "homebrew" comment was based simply on the potting/encapsulation job they did. Prestolite name sure carries a lot of respect around here.

Re: Electronic ignition id.
I haven't had a lot of time to dive into the 75. I just remember the PO saying it had an electronic ignition. It wasn't until last night I pulled the cap. I was thinking it might be homebuilt also due to the potting and nothing stamped in it or decals. Runs good though, I downloaded the images of the instructions. I'll check its wiring When I go through it.
