tire conversion
I am ordering my winter tires (dual knobbys) and am a little confused with conversion. Manual calls for 4.5, which on the chart says 120. I've always run 130, 140 Metzler. The chart says 130 equates to 5/5.1. So, can I run 5.1 instead of the 4.6 they are sized at, or should I stick with 4.6?

Re: tire conversion
Perhaps this needs a bit more explanation.
Manual says the rear tire should be sized 4.5 x 17. I always run 130/90. However, I'm looking at a set of tires that runs 4.6x17, and one at 5.1x17. When I look at the conversion chart it seems like 4.5 is actually 120, and 5.1 at 130.
So I'm wondering if I should purchase the 5.1x17, even though the manual states the size 4.5x17.
They are dual sport knobbys , kendas. That might make a difference.
Thanks for all that might be able to help!

Re: tire conversion
Check the tire manufacturer's website. Most have a sizing chart of one sort or another. I'm assuming you're more concerned with the tire to rim dimensions than clearances between tire and swing arm. In my personal experience (and what I've found on the web), going one size wider is fine. YMMV...
