Lower radiator hose

#1

Post by robin1731 »

I found another hose that will replace just the lower radiator hose. It has a small bend/elbow to it. Use it as is, no cutting. I just put one on an 1100 today. You will still need the new style clamps as the original stock clamps are too big.

Gates 22038.

I saw another one that you could get two bottom hoses from if you needed them or if the store only has that and not the one above. That one is Gates 21404

I replaced the hoses recently and the stock clamps didn't quite work. I purchased these T-Bolt clamps and they worked great. A heck of a lot better than regular hose clamps. These will not pinch or cut the hoses. The top hose clamp is a little tight but it will fit.

Robin, can we get those numbers posted in the shop talk parts reference section for future use. Will probably not be able to find them when I next need them.
Thanks for posting.

Funny you mention this. Good idea, but I already grabbed Robin's suggested P/N and have it filed in my local GL1000 Tech Folder.

Thanks for the tip, BTW, Robin. The hose I am running I literally went behind the counter at NAPA with the old hose and found something that I could cut down and use. This sounds even better.

That's what I did. I have a bit of an "in" at my local Oreilly's. ;)
