Unidentified ignition
Is anyone familiar with this ignition device (picture) on my '76 GL1000? The black plastic cover does not look in the best shape, but the bike was running before I took it apart for rebuild. Would the bike benefit from upgrading to a newer ignition model? Does the bike still need the condenser if it has this ignition installed? There were some dirt and a few drops of oil under this ignition (picture). Should I get ready to replace the oil seals on the camshaft? Thank you!

Re: Unidentified ignition
I had a prestolite unit on two bikes back in the day and they worked well for me back then.

Does the bike run ok with the ignition you have? If so there is no need to spend any money. IMO
