Re. water pump gasket kit.
Anybody ever have problems with the KP brand kit? I have a slight oil drip out the w/p weep hole, pump is new but when I changed out the engine I must have messed up a seal or o-ring when I swapped out the new pump to the replacement motor. Kinda aggravating, didn't really want to be pulling the front off again but....."stuff" happens.

Re: Re. water pump gasket kit.
Did the kit come with the 3 metal washers that bolt the water pump into the back of the housing. That is an oil area and a possible leak area if you used the old metal washers.

Re: Re. water pump gasket kit.
Quite possible, frankly I don't recall if I reused those washers. I'd like to think not but there's no way of knowing even after I pull it apart. I'll just start over with all new washers, gaskets, o-rings....the works. Just hate the thought of pulling everything off again. Again....makes me wish I had a lift to get it up in the air about 30" or so.

Re: Re. water pump gasket kit.
So....any recommendations as to name of supplier, aside from Honda. I already have a new Honda main gasket so ordering the individual stuff from Pro Caliber might be the best way out; total $18.25 plus shipping. Getting a new driveway plus left with repairing all the irrigation lines/sprinklers so no time for it the next couple weeks. The joys of home ownership.RAT wrote:Some of those aftermarket kits have undersized crush washers .... had that problem once on the old Fat Rat

A related question, what are the torque values for the water pump bolts? 87 - 122 in.lb?

Make them 90 in-lb and you'll be good.
