Temp Gauge/Sender question
77 GL1000 Temp gauge worked fine one day, didn't the next. Where to start looking for the failure- the sender, the wiring, or the gauge? The fuel gauge still works fine so it isn't the regulator, correct? Can I test the gauge with a couple AAA batteries? Or? Thanks in advance for your answers. It's time to do my belts so I'll have easy access to the whole shebang.
I need to remember to keep my expectations tiny so I don't end up so whiny.

Re: Temp Gauge/Sender question
If it just lays at the bottom of the gauge and doesn't move and this happened all of a sudden, I'd take the wiring off the sender and clean the connections first. Then start checking the resistance per the above.
