No light on 1 set of points

No light on 1 set of points
Hi I've recently been bringing back to life a 75 gl1000. When I hook up the test light and turn motor by hand the bottom set of points lights but when doing the top set I get no light.Any suggestions on where to look before I pull my hair out .thanx in advance.Hutch

Yes AL they do open and close I only get the test light lit on the poit's on the left side .checked the wires coming from unit and all are good. I'm wondering if I shook a wire loose at the coils.thanx hutch

Well all connections are fine and tight. No spark on 3 and 4 plugs ,good spark on 1 and 2. Still no light up on the right side points which are opening when turning over .bad coIL ?

I had to change to a jockey style shifter since I had a stroke no can shift with left foot

My next step would be to look for voltage at the points and start tracing back. Could still be a loose or broken wire.

Thanx AL I found that the points in question were not making a good ground. This site has helped me out with alot of questions that sombody already asked. Thanx again AL she's purring again after 10 yr project

Thanks wing rider everybody says no riding but with all the parts I had laying around I went the opposite of stock. Good therapy also
