the 4th Cylinder, or its respective Piston didn't move?
caution
You may be now bending a valve on the right hand cylinder head if the #1 and #3 cylinder head camshaft timing belt was not reinstalled and static timed correctly before attempting to turn over the engine with kick starter lever.

Alright gents moment of truth (long time delay due to work, cold season, and truck issues)
Piston connecting rod blew apart. Every other cylinder looks almost perfect. The wall in the block has a huge chunk off. Everything else is just flawless looking. I want to have hope for this engine.. Its my baby... But it looks inoperable anything i can do? Or would a new engine have to do?

He just left my shop with 2 engines. One was a cold knock and the other was a pop out of gear. So he should be able to make one good one.

I have taken apart and cleaned the engine with the slight knock and running through everything that could cause it. Maybe the way the pistons are detonating?
Oil to viscous? Who knows. I will find out with a thorough inspection of the gear... or YouTube
We were getting ready to take off on a significant ride and were concerned it was a rod knock that is why it was removed from service. Other than that it was a good running engine.

Could this have been the knocking? The crankshaft on the donor engine has some play at the end where the pulleys go. The end has some wear from the pulleys. Is this fine or would i need the crank From the other engine

the noise we heard was down in the bowels of the engine.

That is the oil pick up, and can be accessed from the right (non shifter) side of the engine. There is a rectangular cover just to the rear of the neutral switch.
