LED Front Turn Signals

New problem in the ongoing saga of my 82gl1100 rebuild.

I needed new turn signals all around, so I decided to go with LED. Great. Got a new flasher, fine. New LED signals, front and back.Sure.

Problem is, the fronts are only two wires. Red and Black. The old bulb style is dual filament. So, any ideas how to remedy this problem? Am I going to need new front signals with three wires? Will a different flasher fix my problem?

Some other way of wiring it all together? I can't be the first person to have this problem, but darned if I can wrap my head around it.

I believe the stock system had the front light doing double duty as running lights and turn signals. You should be able to use what you have but without the running light function.

Forget the internet. Just ask a local Police Officer.

Yep, that's how to get the real scoop. When I put red LED 1157 replacements in my stock tail light, it cast a red glow on the license plate. While hanging at the dog park, chatting with a fellow dog owner who happens to be city cop, I asked him what was legal. He whipped out his phone, and a couple of clicks later, read me the statute...Which states the license plate light has to be white.

He also told me that the only time I would probably get pulled for it would be at around bar closing time. But I went ahead and got some lighted license plate bolts, and wired them up anyway. I figure there is no sense in making a LEO waste his, and my time with my lights, when he could be out catching the real criminals.
