I like playing around with stuff,,, sometimes just to see if it works,,, this works great, I get 2 at a time...LOL,,, this is for show and tell... I'm sure most of you have the proper valve release tool,,, but this is how Cavemen do it... sorry about the double photo...

The wedges are cut to fit the correct angle so they sit flat, if any pressure goes down from the press the wedges stop the valves from moving at all.. I just tape across it and it hold the wedges in place...

That's very good!

Are you utilizing something under the edge of the head so the compression force is not going to bend the valves?

Yes, just a wad of paper towels up under the valves... I laughed my butt off after it worked perfectly using a 2x4 on edge, I just notched out where the valve keepers go,,, I decided to change it so I can just retrieve the keepers from the top... I'm always coming up with something strange...lol see you can just turn the head around and do the other side as well...Cool man..I posted this because I like it when others come up with homemade stuff. that actually works...You go down easy and make sure the valves don't move, they stay put...

I thought the same thing before I even started this and I had to come up with a way for installing the valves...ha ha ha I looked over and the paper towel roll was right there so I folded up a piece and placed it down up under the valve and bingo....Keepers come right out the top just like it was meant to be...
