Harley Exhausts Source

Post by BlueThunder »

Hey, I just want to relay a "tip" that may benefit another member is obtaining replacement mufflers for their Wing.
I passed by my local Harley Davidson dealer and inquired what they do with the stock mufflers when people buy a bike and have the exhaust system replaced. They said they simply discard them in the trash. The owner of the dealership mentioned that they were about to discard 20 such mufflers and offered for me to take what I wanted! FOR NOTHING! FREE! GRATIS!
All of them immaculate and without soot. It was obvious that they were never used.

So, if you're looking for Harley mufflers to replace the rusted one on your ride, head down to your local HD dealer and ask. You might be pleasantly surprised as I was.

I bought a pair of the short style from a local HD dealer for 25 bucks. I put one of them on my FT500.
I have gotten 2 pair of the long HD mufflers from auction sites.

If you have a local flea market, that's another good source.
Also can find Sportster seats, etc. cheap.
Great to keep these old 'Wings flying on down the road.
