The stainless fasteners commonly available are about the same strength as grade 2 steel ones. The plain steel threaded rod you find at the hardware store is grade 2. Do you really want to trust that to support your engine?

FWIW, for the bolt that goes through the bottom of the engine (I would call it a long stud but Honda calls it a bolt), Honda supplied longer ones for bikes that came with the Honda engine guards.
