i know your new to this, i'll give you an easy way to get them out. lay the head on a table with a rag under it pushing up against the valve. take a deep socket the just fits the top of the spring . hit the top of the socket with a large hammer. the keepers will pop out. might take two hits. and watch where they go. they should wind up inside of the socket

those seats need lapping. get some lapping compound, put some on the valve face, install it in the head, and turn it side to side with slight pressure on the face of the valve. thay make a tool for that. what you want is an even smooth surface on both the valve and the seat after you have done them all, and the springs are installed, turn the head face side up and set on a table. fill the dome of the head with a liquid, til it covers the valve face. let it set a minute or two, and make sure the liquid doesn't leak past the valve seal. if not, all is good. if it does, take it apart and lap some more

That trick with the socket works real well. I usually cover the head with a rag before whacking the socket just to be sure everything stays in a place so I can find it. Learned when I dropped the socket. Also the socket could easily drive the retainer far enough to smash the seal enough to damage it and it will still look fine so you might consider new ones to be sure. Easy now and a bummer once back together.

One down, lapped the heck out of it and lubed a new seal and put it on.
I actually used the wack method to put the keeper back on.
Only seven to go.

Actually I used the compressor to put one keeper on then with the head on floor I
used the socket and wacked it and the other one fell in. I think the heel of my foot
helped too. Being barefoot I could feel the spring bottom out. I think I'll try
The foot method next. Only six to go.

Be sure to clean out all the abrasive from the lapping compound before reassembly.

Also be careful that the retainer does not contact the seal when it is compressed with the hammer strike as it can be easily damaged and nolonger work.
