Painting Done!
This summer I enrolled in Paint Your Own Motorcycle University. Made mistakes, learned a lot, and very glad to have just bolted the parts back on the bike. Still want to polish engine parts and do some touch-ups on the frame. Looks like rain outside but that won't stop me from going for a "victory ride" in a few minutes.

PYOBU Lessons:
1. Even a cheap paint gun is better than spray bombs.
2. "Just enough" paint is never enough.
3. Read product instructions and obey...especially when it comes to temperature.
4. Spend lots of time making sure the gun is adjusted properly, especially when shooting clear.
5. Good quality paint products are worth the money.
6. Make peace with your sanding block.
7. Seeing the shine emerge while you are buffing the clearcoat is awesome.
8. 3M's Scotch Fine Line Striping Tape 6314 is an amazing, indispensable product.
9. Professionals who achieve superior results in a fraction of the time it took me to get acceptable results deserve a lot of credit. Autobody is hard work.

Re: Painting Done!
I called my first paint job on a Rebel the twenty foot paint job. As long as you were twenty feet away, it looked....well, it looked blue anyway! Nice job. Hope my next one looks as good. Like your choice of badges as well!!

Re: Painting Done!
i think perfect paint is for trailer queens. if you ride at all there will be rain,....and dirt,....and bugs. perfect paint is also for show bikes. painting will get better with practice. keep the mechanical up, and just ride, ride, ride
