Hey All,
My wing is almost stripped, just the frame, engine and front end left on it. I have two engines, a 79 and a 76. The 76 engine gave me lowish compression readings, but it has sat for 5 years. I would like to rig up an engine test stand to test both motors before I decide which motor to restore.
So, Which wires on the coil go to the points without the main wiring harness and which to to +/-?
Thanks!!
James

This one is mine. Sorry about the photos but they are the ones I have on hand.
I see this photo is before I mounted the coils and condensor. The stand itself is a light duty automotive engine stand with brackets to mount the GL engine. The white rectangular thing mounted to the front of the wood box is the ballast resistor. You can see the cheap automotive starter solenoid. My typical spaghetti wiring job. The important thing is that it works.

That's awesome Greg! I'm sure mine won't be as nice, just need a mess of wires and a way of keeping the engine in place while I test them. Thanks for the ideas.
