Will a GL1200 starter fit on a GL1100

After restorating my starter 2 times in the last 3 years, i´ve desided to buy me a new (old) one.
I found a semi-cheap one from a GL1200, but will that fit on my GL1100?

I don't know. They are different lengths

no is the short answer. 1000 will fit 1100, but 1100 will not fit on 1200. and the 1200 had two different starters depending on the year. 84 was different the 85,86,87

Then i´ll just bump-start the rest of the season, because i cant efford to buy a new starter

I have one it works but I'd rebuild.brushes and cleaning cause it's out of the bike but will work as is not shorted out. $35 including shipping. PM if you want one.
