No Sparky

#1

Post by dritzman »

After not thinking about the bike for a year or so, I decided to poke around tonight. Been losing a cylinder with fuel dumping down #1.

Tonight, I plugged in another plug and went around the horn. No spark on #1 and #3 is weak. I'm guessing the right coil is bad.

Are there other things I should check before installing new? These dynatek coils are 3 years old. Dynatek ignition is brand new.

The right hand coil is responsible for the front two cylinders. #2 and #1. (left to right orientation)
The left hand coil is responsible for the rear two cylinders. #4 and #3. (left to right orientation)

Fuel dumping down #1? Carburetors need attention. First.

I misspoke, the wires were run correctly. Today I moved wires around, cleaned grounds and fixed the burnt ends of 1&3. Bike runs for the first time in over 2 years. She even idles sweetly.
