Since becoming an official site sponsor I can do this easier/better.

I am a Randakk approved Carburetor Rebuilder. Mostly the 1000 and 1100 Goldwings but have done 1200's too. And waiting on a set of 1500's as I type this. When I rebuild GL 1000/1100 carbs I can put them on my test engine and sync them, set the mixture screws and adjust the idle. They should be done again once on your engine but they will be close. You will also receive the fuel petcock rebuild kit and new intake manifold O-rings. I do not polish any parts.

Early GL1000 carbs also get the Randakk recommended updates for the off idle issue.

Prices are plus shipping back to you. Other repairs are extra, such as repairing broken float pin posts and or repairing stripped screw holes. I always contact the owner before doing those repairs though.

GL1000---$460.00
GL1100---$485.00

Don't forget I also have the front transmission cover bolt kits for the GL1000. $14.00 shipped in the lower 48 states.

Rob's Motorcycle Repair also works on other bikes. I build stock and race engines for KZ900/1000's. I can do race heads and stock heads. Kawasaki and GL. I've done complete restorations on both GL's and KZ's also.

If you have any questions please PM me. I don't have a website. I also do other carburetors besides Gold Wing carbs.

If your in the market for a "hired wrench" you can't do much better then Rob, IMHO.

And, I can't find the other oiler orifice............ got one not two Rob, sorry. Only took me .......................almost a year.

I've received very sound advice from Rob on this site. A novice often needs a little "fatherly" push now and then.
He tells it like it is. That sometimes hurts but since it's almost always spot on, I appreciate it and shrug off the bruise to my ego.

Thanks brother. And the amount doesn't matter. See you at Mid-Ohio.

I want to thank Robin for the carb rebuild he did for me. I bought a carb on ebay and sent it to him for a rebuild.
He was in communication with me through out the rebuild and sent it back in a timely manner. Put it on the bike and it idled smoothly once started . Great packaging and great looking when finished.
Even sent me a petcock rebuild kit and rubber o rings for the manifolds.
He goes the extra mile.
very impressive !
Thanks again

You are quite welcome. Gotta say though the rebuild kit and O-rings are part of the complete carb rebuild kit. So, nothing special. Just getting everything you paid for. :orange

These carbs were typical of what I see though. Someone had been in them before. Some things were not put back together correctly. Other things missing.

Very glad you are happy. anim-cheers1

A new service added recently is Vapor Blasting. Charge for that is $50.00 per hour. I can do small parts. Things like carb bodies and intake plenums. Some bigger parts but contact me about those.

I agree about the finish left behind by the vapor process. I was introduced to it when I was going through my CBX a couple years back. Had the cam cover done. I love the finish. It was recommended to coat it, but I left it raw and a couple of years later it still looks great.

I can tell you one thing, Robin is offering this service at an extremely competitive and attractive price. I paid a lot more than 50 bucks an hour for this cover. I know this because I was in the guy’s shop as it was being done, touring all the CBXs...

Great thread. Like the carb rebuild info, if you are not doing it on a regular basis, sometimes better to bite the bullet and have a shop do them.

Vapour Blasting is a great option. Had my '85 1200 Limited Edition engine and various other parts done this past winter during an engine rebuild and complete paint job. Looked for a protectant, the fellow who did the job recommended ACF50, but this is a fluid and would attract dirt and crud. Found a CERAKOTE product MC5100 for all aluminum finishes including vapour blasting. Does an excellent job, cleans up easily with a rag and water. Used on other finishes as well. Keep away from areas you don't want coated. Air cure, apply with spray gun or brush. No affiliation, just like the product. One application, let dry, carry on.

Cheers
