Earlier I sent partzilla a note through their contact form and just now I got a 3 dollar refund for the upgraded shipping. Does not help much but I guess it is something. Because the parts were not here I had to spend the day sanding sheetrock. i think that is why I am mad! :P :P :P :P
Good afternoon Steve,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I see you paid for expedited shipping which is 1 to 3 days delivery. We certainly apologize for the delay you are experiencing with the carrier. I have request a refund of $3.00 for the difference of standard and expedited shipping. You should see this refunded in 3 to 5 business days to your original payment method. If you have any other, questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate your business and hope you have a great day!

Thank you for choosing Partzilla.com. We look forward to doing business with you in the future.

I guess you could have spent the day wrestling the new tires onto the rims. :-D

I did the front the other day. It was actually much easier than the last set i did on the 1800. They are Bias not Radial so i wonder if that makes a difference (thinking out loud). I really wanted to button up everything on the front before tearing into the back but I may do the back tomorrow just to knock it out. Wait and see how my shoulders feel in the morning.

Anyone got an easy fix for this?? Hate the idea of getting caught in the rain with a gaping hole in the side of the speedo.

New back tire is mounted and balanced. Rear master cylinder is apart and looks very reusable. Cir clip was seized but I was able to free it up. I have a kit in hand for that. Need to run to the parts store and get some brake kleen. Enough for today.

That is one nasty looking matter cylinder, lol!

It sucks that you had a bad experience with Partzilla.com. Any time I'm doing a major overhaul (like rebuilding the forks) I order from them, mostly because I want OEM parts and they seem to have the most complete selection (I hate piece- mealing big parts orders...). Their ship time always sucks, so I just plan for it. I also keep a list of other OEM stuff I might need or want and tack them on to get the free shipping...

FWIW, I seldom use OEM for brake stuff as there's several dependable vendors (even through Amazon) with better pricing and much faster shipping.

I don't think my bad experience was really with partzilla but more so UPS AGAIN. A couple years ago I ordered a set of step bars for one of the Wife's jeeps. They went from the East coast to the West coast then back to the East coast and got stuck in a warehouse like 20 miles away. I finally went and picked them up. I do not understand how they can still be in business with this kind of service.

According to the UPS site the parts I ordered 10 days ago were in Norfolk 5 days ago then shipped out to WV and are now trying to find their way back here again. The last update from the 26th has them 100 miles away in Richmond Va but the front page says they will be delivered today.

UPS just updated their page to deliver tomorrow instead of today, but still showing as location of Richmond from Friday. I am taking odds now that they lost it.

Tis a possibility

Still have a lot of clean up stuff she needs after I finish the brakes and rear end.

needs:
adjust handlebars
replace grips (in hand)
fuel filter (in hand)
clutch fluid purge
air filter (in hand)
Wind screen (needs researched and ordered)
need to decide what to do about rear shocks. They don't hold air but so far one up have been okay
rotors should probably be ground they all seem to have a lip
Seat has one minor split about 2 inches long

Shooting for my first 200 mile run sometime in the next week After that I will add to the list and make some decisions about what "has to be fixed" and what "I want to fix".

I already have a lot going on this summer so the real challenge will be getting enough miles on it to see if I am physically comfortable doing a long trip on her. First I need to adjust some things and see if I can make the seating position a bit better for me. The handlebars seem to force my elbows in toward my body and I am not a fan of that. I like having my arms almost straight through the elbow so I think I will start by kicking the bars forward some and then of course rotating the controls and levers. If that does not work I have numerous sets of bars from bikes I have parted that I can look at.

Rebuilding the air shocks isn't so bad. If you can do forks, you can do the air shocks. I did the set from my 85 years ago and the results were much better ride than either of the two sets of manual shocks I tried. Of course the springs are fun to deal with and I paid extra attention to all the air line connections.
