longer fork legs for '83 interstate
I need to add about 1 or 2 inches to my forklegs 3 inches would be even better
any ideas?

More like fine tuning 
I am not looking for a chopper look.
Reemmber I am using a lower tripple clamp as a upper tripple clamp.
The stock upper has about 1.5 offset built inot it so when I put the "new" upper clamp on I hadda slide toe legs up 1.5, so the bike site about 1.5 lowre.
Also if I have longer fork legs I could have a little sticking up from my triple clamp and I could put my clipons up above the upper triple clamp/.
I am not looking for a chopper look.

Fish, you might be able to graft a newer 750 Magna front end on if they are 39mm. My guess is it'll be complicated to keep the 83 wheel and brakes. Mine required shimming to get the wheel centered because the Magna fork triples are narrower than the gl's. If you could find a pair that had been upgraded to the racetech suspension, you might get an upgrade to your handling.?? There was also someone here who made custom inserts to graft a pair of Busa forks on. Wingrider? maybe.
Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Forks by Frank. Get any length you want. longer or shorter. He can make you just the upper tubes and you can reuse your lowers.

I can't take credit for those....bonneblktrk made those....he and I were putting Busa forks on at the same time....I did a little different route to make it shorter.

They call 'em "slugs" A piece of steel same diameter as the fork tubes machined to screw in where the fork caps used to and as long as you want. I think those on the "Bopper" were 4".
