Purchased a 76 wing from Connecticut without a title, through a middle man....

I have:

Connecticut registration bill of sale from owner A to owner B
Bill of sale from owner B to me.

Owner B never registered bike and only owned it a short time (quick up sale to me I'm sure)

The insurance company doesn't care, so I will have the rmv1 form....

What do I do? How do they look it up? Should I not show them the registration bill from owner A to B and hope this regular paper bill of sale will do? Or would they know? I don't want them getting confused and throw forms at me lol.

most states have a web site for the dmv, I would suggest you go there to look at their rules

If your ins. Company or agent is in Mass. , they should know if you need it to register or not.Check the registry wed site, or call them. But I think you're gonna need it as well as automatically apply for a new one, for a price of course!

looking back on your original note, it appears ALL you have is a bill of sale?

I bought my non-titled '79 Wing in NH & titled it in MA. I went to the MA registry with the PO's registration & a bill of sale. Done. It was amazingly easy. I'm not sure if you could do it with a BOS only. If NH lets you register a bike with BOS only. You could first reg it there & transfer it... Maybe.

once again, you have to check YOUR states rules and regs.... in Oklahoma (for example) NOTHING short of a notarized title will work

In NH you can register a bike without a title or a notarized BOS, IF the bike is 10 years or older. You however need to have your local police come and check the VIN# on your BOS against the VIN # on the bike and fill out a State of NH Verification of Vehicle ID. Once they fill out the form you simply take it to your Town Clerk and pay roughly $28 for a new registration. I've had to do this with several of the bikes I have bought off of craigslist that had no titles or previous registrations.

but that is exactly why you need to see what your state requires, as there are 50 sets of rules
